First home meet a sweep for WHS swimmers
The Windham Eagles swept both the girls and boys meets over Biddeford on Thursday, December 19 at Saint Joseph's College. The Lady Eagles won 91-52 over a small, but talented Lady Tigers team. The Eagle boys continue to look strong with their 110-39 victory.
The Lady Eagles showed both speed and team depth. They had wins from Alex Farinella (200 free), Ellie Joseph (100 fly), Emily Gagne (100 free) and Jessica Stumper (100 back). The girls also had wins in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.
They showed excellent depth with strong, point scoring swims from Bryanna Power, Oliva Gilvey, Olivia Verrill, Maelah Nadeau, Taylor Colangelo, Hannah Allen, Anne Libby, Monica Landry, Sophie Mazziotti, Kayla Hogland, Kayleigh Clinch and Sammy Killmeyer.
The Eagle boys had wins from and were led by Lyle Webster (200 free), Joe Paluso (200 IM and 100 fly), Sam Shoberg (50 free and 500 free), Josh Labrecque (100 free), John Giberti (100 back) and Ryan Plummer (100 breast). The Eagles also swept the three relays. The boys showed their depth with strong swims and points from Josh Blake, Francis Watson, Frank Farinella, Zach Bailey, Michael Dubois, Jack Blake and Dan Kilgallon.
The teams were in the pool again on Friday at the Morse Invitational. Both teams had a good showing against strong teams. The next home swim meet is Saturday, January 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s College.
