BRIDGTON - The cool late summer weather is a perfect time to hit the road and trails to support local land conservation. The quiet and scenic trails and roads of western Maine are what the Loon Echo Trek offers participants who hike or ride for this good cause.  Discounted pre-registration ends September 15, so register now for the 2014 Loon Echo Trek scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 at Shawnee Peak in Bridgton, Maine.

This popular annual benefit for Loon Echo Land Trust attracts hundreds of people from across New England and beyond and offers something for everyone. Cycle over roads offering breathtaking views of farm fields, lakes and mountains or enjoy a hike over Pleasant Mountain.  The Loon Echo Trek offers 25-, 50-, 75- or 100-mile rides and 4.5- and 6-mile hikes which all afford some of the best scenery New England has to offer. With September’s cooler temperatures and hints of fall color, the Trek is one of Maine’s greatest events.

After finishing, all hikers and cyclists are treated to free Allagash beer, massages by Freedom Day Spa and a BBQ meal served up from Blizzards Pub all making the perfect way to end your Trek.
Loon Echo Land Trust protects over 5,900 acres of land in the Northern Sebago Lake region.
