Raymond's first-ever "My School Color Run" - By Jim Beers

On Sunday, October 4th, the Raymond Elementary School, (RES), will hold its first-ever "My School Color Run" event at 1p.m., rain or shine. The Run will take place at the school, and will raise funds for students and staff of RES. The event is open to students, teachers, and community members, from Raymond or any community.

Sign up before September 21 and it is only a $20 fee, which includes a color packet, race bib, and a My School Color Run t-shirt. Registration after the 21st, or on the day of the race will be $25, and does not include a color packet, race bib or T-shirt. Interested participants can register for the run by visiting www.RaymondMSCR.eventbrite.com, or by filling out a paper registration form and mailing it into Raymond Elementary School, 434 Webbs Mills Road, Raymond, Maine, 04071.

The 1-mile course will be on the school grounds and will feature color splash zones where the participants will be doused in color. Be prepared to get wet! Kids four and under get in free and groups of four or more are only $18 per participant.

One of the event organizers, Susan Brackett, who teaches at RES, is enthusiastic for this first-ever event.

"I am really excited to be a part of this great fundraiser for the school. Not only will the My School Color Run help support the needs of students and teachers with the money that will be raised, but it is also a fantastic way to support the school's wellness policy while having lots of fun!” she said.
