Sadie Nelson is the Aroma Joe’s athlete of the week. Congratulations to Sadie for scoring her 1,000 career point in basketball this week.
Sadie
Nelson is a senior at Windham High School. She is the daughter of Wayne Nelson
and Kim Nelson. While at WHS she has been on the softball, basketball and
soccer teams.
“Sadie
was chosen for this honor as she is a person who is a positive role model for
many, including adults. Recently she scored her 1,000 career point in
basketball and did it though a team setting. She is a student athlete that you
want to keep in your school forever!” said coach Brody Artes.
Her
sports hero is Meghan Gribbin (who also scored 1,000 career points as a Windham
athlete). Sadie has found a good balance between sports and school work. “I
find it easier to balance sports and school because I’ve learned good time
management and when I feel stressed with school, I talk to my teachers to
balance a plan,” she said.
“Teamwork
dictates anyone’s season. The stronger the bond, the better the teamwork,”
Sadie said.
She
plans to attend the University of New England to student athletic training
after graduation.
