Windham Swim Team off to a great start

The 2017-18 swim season is off to a great start at the first meet on Saturday, December 9 against Gorham.

The boys had a solid victory over Gorham 95 to 60, the girls lost to Gorham 103 to 66 but congratulation to Katharyn Lucas who qualified for States in the 200 IM and 100 breast swim and Elizabeth Lucas qualified for States in the 200 free swim.

Coach Pete Small said “I thought the team showed a lot today. They raced hard and we saw a lot of good stuff. They gave us a good look at what we need to work on.”

The swimmers have worked hard getting ready for the season and it showed with some excellent times that narrowly missed the qualifying times. Dominic Agneta swam a fantastic 50 free swim at 26.79 seconds, while Hannah Maurais looked fantastic with the 100 free.

The boys 400 relay team of Michael Ryan, Dylan Palmer, Evan Desmond and Simon Gabaree was amazing; finishing 33 seconds ahead of the Gorham team in second place. Congratulations!
We are very excited to watch the swimmers improve over the season and we are looking forward to our next meet at Riverton pool against Portland on Friday, December 15.
