Windham Eagles varsity football takes on Edward Little - By Stephanie Coffin

This season looks great for Coach Perkins and the Varsity Eagles Football team.  This is a group of boys that have worked and played football together for several years and you can see it in their skills, partnership and team work.

With several varsity members returning, such as Tanner Laberge, Zach Davis, Matt Roy and Hunter Bowen the starting lineup looks good.  Add in juniors Eric Webb, Kyle Kilfiol, Travis Pesce, Dylan Koza, Mitchell Eskilson, Griffin Jacobson, Patrick Leavitt, Thomas Sappier and Luke Forbush, topping off with several sophmores Desmond Leslie, Cameron Hoffses, Kyle Houser, Chris Lekousi and Ben McDonald, and rounding out the team with freshmen Tanner Bernier, Hunter Coffin, Nazari Henderson, Nate Watson and Justin Labreque, the team looks good.

Last Friday night’s game against Edward Little was a crush for the Eddies.  The field was controlled by the Eagles the whole game, not giving the Eddies any breathing room.  The first quarter the Eagles took off scoring 21 points, pumping the Eagles nest up with enthusiasm.  The second quarter the Eddies did get a touchdown in with a field goal but that would be the only one they would see.  The Eagles added another 15 to their score.  The third quarter went scoreless by both teams but the fourth quarter was wrapped up by the Eagles scoring another nine points, this given Windham the win 45 – 7.

The next home game is this Friday night, September 19 at 7 p.m. against Lewiston.
