After coming off a hard loss to both Scarborough and Bonny Eagle in the last week, Windham traveled to Thornton Academy to face off against the Thornton Academy Trojans.
The
Eagles needed a win to stay in the ranks and to keep the team morale high. As
in any game, having home court advantage with the fans and the home atmosphere
of being in your town tends to play a big part. This was the Eagles third game
in a row where home court was not in their favor and the crowd proved this to
them as soon as they stepped onto the court.
After
losing to TA in the football championship this past fall, the TA fans wanted to
show they were there for the basketball team as well. However, the Eagles
continued to play the game and the outcome was a loss for the Trojans. Kevin
Weisser owned the court Thursday night and ended the game with 24 points to his
name, including five 3-point shots. Ryan Gorman gathered 12 for himself and
Troy Davis and Marcus D’Andrea walked away with 10 apiece.
At
the end of the first half of the game the Eagles led 37-22 and went on to win
overall 72-46. Next home game is Thursday against Massabesic, game starts at 7
p.m.
