The Windham Eagle athlete of the week is Elizabeth Mycock,
who plays goalie on the Windham High School girl’s soccer team. “Lizzie rose to
the occasion in our semi-final win versus Scarborough. She played in the goal
during the penalty kicks and had an unbelievable save. Lizzie is a very
unselfish player and has played a major role in our teams success and positive
chemistry,” said her soccer coach.
“As a goalie and being the last line of defense it’s easy to
get nervous. It’s important to me that I channel nervous feelings into
confidence rather than self doubt,” said Mycock, a 16-year-old junior who is
also part of the alpine ski team at WHS. She lives with her mom Linda, dad Jim,
brother Joseph and dog Lucy.
She enjoys reading, baking, hanging out with her family and
playing with her dog as well as following stocks.
Her future aspirations are to major in economics and minor
in English to eventually become a stockbroker or a lawyer.
Best way for her to unwind after competition: Drink a
chocolate milk.
