The Windham Eagle athlete of the week is senior Renee
Seavey, who plays soccer and basketball for Windham Christian Academy. The
17-year-old has many talents including horseback riding, playing piano, flute
and saxophone, singing, theater and reading in addition to sports.
“Renee was one of our two captains on the Windham Christian
Warriors who were 10-2 in the Maine Christian School Sports league. In addition to maintaining her high academics
(2070 on her SATs) during soccer season, Renee also performed in “Children of
Eden” with the Windham Center Stage company and earned a position in the
district II music conference. Renee is a
student leader loved and respected by all of her peers,” said coach and
principal at WCA Roy Mickelson.
The most important thing to her when she is on the field is
“playing to the best of my ability while working with my team,” she said.
Renee lives with her mom Maureen, dad Michael, brothers Noah
and Elijah and her sister Anna.
Renee is headed for college, where she’s sure to be a
success.
Best way to unwind after competition: Playing the piano or
hanging out with friends
