Softball postponed Tuesday due to storm - By Michelle Libby

After a rough start to the playoffs for the Windham softball team, they had a second chance against 12th seeded South Portland on Wednesday (after press time). Starting pitcher Danielle Tardiff was diagnosed with a stress fracture and was unable to play, leaving the backup pitchers playing the whole game.

The team, which is seeded fifth, was excited, chanting and cheering on their team mates.
“These girls are so much fun,” said announcer Bob Witham.

The game was postponed during the fourth inning and rules state the game will start over from the first inning when it is rescheduled. With lightning and thunder, the game can restart after 30 minutes have passed since the last thunder or lightning sighting.

“When the rain hits it changes it some because what happened with us yesterday is that the field became unplayable,” said athletic director Rich Drummond.
