The Aroma Joe’s athlete of the week is 17-year-old Denali
Bailey, a senior at Windham High School. Denali is on the cross country team
under the direction of Jeff Riddle and Tom Noonan. “I really enjoy running and
hanging out with my friends and cross country team,” Denali said.
“Denali is a quiet yet consistent leader and contributor
of the cross country team. Her times have improved through the season
immensely. She represents her team well on and off the trails and will play a
huge roll come regionals,” said coach Riddle.
She believes that kids should play sports “because it is
a fun way to get active and make new friends.” She has learned that hard work
goes a long way. She has also recognized the importance of team spirit.
“My future aspirations include going to college and
hopefully getting a degree in physical or occupational therapy,” Denali
said.
