The Windham Eagle athlete of the week is senior field hockey
player Lauren Doering. The 17-year-old attends Windham High School. In addition
to field hockey, where she plays mid-field and half-back, she also is involved
with karate.
On the field the most important thing is “to be a supportive
teammate,” Doering said.
She was chosen because of “her continued strong play has
been influential on and off the field for the field hockey program,” said her
coach.
She lives with her parents Kim and Craig, has a brother Alex
and two great dogs.
Her hobbies are singing and hiking. After she graduates in
the spring she hopes to major in bio-chemistry in college, sports medicine or
orthopedic surgery.
Best way to unwind after competition: Relax and look forward
to the next competition.
