Lady Eagle soccer improves 11-0 - By Sadie Nelson

Windham Lady Eagles varsity soccer keeps the streak going, improving their record to 11-0. They recently have played Bonny Eagle, Biddeford, Massabesic, and Marshwood, each game resulting in a win! Windham challenged Biddeford under the lights at home, the first goal made by Jenna Soucy. Defenders Jordan Sargent and Emily Kent both added a goal, Kent’s being her first of the season! Sophomore Caitlin Winn had a hat trick for Windham. The game ended with a score of 10-0.

Last Friday night was homecoming for Windham, where they played Marshwood. Windham set the tone in the very beginning, scoring 20 seconds into the game. Ciera Berthiaume scored off a beautiful cross from Melissa Morton, putting the ball into the left corner of the net. The game was physical, and a well battled game by both teams.

Windham’s near perfect passing made converting goals easy. Madison Mauro assisted Jenna Soucy later in the second half by a slotted ball that Soucy placed left corner. Caitlin Winn scored the last goal for Windham off a cross from Maggie Symonds, where the Marshwood goalie bobbled the ball, and Winn’s shot caught the left corner of the goal, making the final score of the game 7-0 Windham.

The regular season is coming close to an end, with only three games left. Windham has yet to face Scarborough, Portland and Noble.
