Windham blanks Bessey 3-0 by David Field

WINDHAM-On Thursday, June 20, Bessey Motors came to town and were shut out by the Windham Merchants 3-0. Keene State freshman and Windham graduate Cody Dube took the hill for Windham and was a huge factor in the shut out. Dube struck out eleven to help the Windham squad.

Windham didn’t reach the board until the second inning. With two out, Ethan Petty reached base on a single. Zach Conley reached on an error and Calvin Field drove a shot that the shortstop bobbled to score Petty. In the third, Cody Dube led off and reached on another error. Jack Herzig drove Dube in with a single. After stealing second, Herzig was driven in by Ethan Petty to give Windham their final score.

Windham faced Topsham in a double header on Saturday. Despite playing at Mt. Ararat High School, Windham was the home team due to Windham’s Summerfest.
