The
Windham Eagle athlete of the week is senior Emily Gilman, a 17-year-old student
at Windham High School.
Gilman
plays soccer and lacrosse. She is a stopper on defense for soccer and a center
on the lacrosse team. The most important things to her when she’s on the field
are communication, positivity and team chemistry.
“Emily
had the game winning goal this past Saturday to help the Eagles pull out a 1-0
win over Biddeford. She has been a
leading contributor to our defense this season that has allowed only two goals
up to this point. She is a pleasure to
coach and is a great role model for our youth in the district,” said her coach
Deb Lebel.
When
not on the field, Gilman likes skiing and snowboarding. After graduation in
May, Gilman would like to attend Roger Williams University and one day become a
surgeon.
Best
way to unwind after competition: Going
for a drive and listening to music.
