Windham High School girls’ volleyball team is well into the season. With six games under their belt, the girls are looking great.
Coach Rush-Donohue said that the team was beginning to gel
even though they are half-way through the season. Illness and injuries have
hindered their play from the beginning. He sees great potential in the team, he
said.
The JV team has been playing well also winning many of their
matches.
“We want to thank the
community for stopping by (at the car washes) and making a donation. The girls
even had the challenge of washing a large garbage truck,” said Lisa Potvin,
parent of a volleyball player. The next fundraising event will be a spaghetti
dinner on October 18th at 5 p.m. at the North Windham Union Church.
The team will be raffling a 10-foot Vapor Kayak donated by Old Town. Tickets are
available at games and at the door for the dinner. The drawing will take place
at 6:30 p.m. during the dinner. Patman’s Redemption in Windham will donate your
returnable bottles toward our team fundraising goal of $10,000. Just mark bags
with WHS Volleyball.
Home game schedule: Oct 10 versus Scarborough, Oct 21 versus
Lake Region (JV at 3:30 p.m. and varsity at 5 p.m.). All other games are JV at
4:30 and varsity at 6 p.m.
Come enjoy an evening with your High School girls’ volleyball
team!
