Eagles lose to Yarmouth in the pool - By Cheryl Paluso

The Windham High School swim team hosted their second home meet of the season on Saturday, January 4 versus Yarmouth at Saint Joseph’s College.  The Lady Eagles suffered a 91-64 loss, while the Eagle boys lost their first dual meet of the season with a close 87-74 loss against a strong Yarmouth team.

While Jess Stumper had the lady Eagles only win (100 freestyle), there were many point scoring swims from teammates Alex Farinella, Emily Gagne, Taylor Colangelo, Olivia Gilvey, Colby Nadeau, Hannah Allen, Monica Landry, Olivia Verrill, Ellie Joseph and Maelah Nadeau.  

The boys had individual wins by Sam Shoberg (200 free, 500 free), Joe Paluso (200 IM, 100 breast), Josh Labrecque (100 back), and Josh Blake (100 fly).  The 200 medley relay of Josh Labrecque, Joe Paluso, John Giberti and Michael Dubois also produced a win for the Eagles.  Giberti, Labrecque, Dubois and Blake all contributed with additional point scoring swims.

The Eagles continued their busy January schedule with a meet against Westbrook on January 9^th followed by a home meet against Greely at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 11^th at Saint Joseph’s College.
